River Murray - Chowilla Map - UPDATED 2022

This map continues the journey from Chowilla Homestead upstream to the NSW border. It is a truly wild and dynamic region for real adventurers.

Visitors and paddlers in the area are reminded that entry to the Chowilla Creek system by “The Shute” (the fast flowing creek about 100m downstream from Boarder Cliffs Customs House) is considered dangerous for paddlers unfamiliar with fast flowing water. An alternative is to enter the creek system by a short portage from the main river into Hypurna Creek and is a viable option for groups of varying ability (portage in the vicinity of river marker 638)
